Backroads of the South Shore is a collaboration of 17 historical organizations operating 25 important historic sites in 10 towns along the South Shore of Massachusetts. The group is dedicated to creating an awareness of the area’s historic gems and celebrating the heritage and spirit of the region.
The Aldens and Adamses, Winslows and Bradfords, Stetsons and Westons, Howlands and Harlows … are families of the old South Shore whose stories represent the settlement of the “Old Colony” of Plymouth in Massachusetts. Enjoy picturesque Early American houses where founding families made their homes.
